ADB and Uzbekistan Prepare for Annual Governors’ Meeting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 March, at the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines, ADB President Masato Kanda met with Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and the country’s alternate governor at ADB.

The main topic of discussion was the preparation for the 59th Annual Meeting of ADB Governors, scheduled to take place from May 3 to 6, 2026, in Samarkand. During the visit, a briefing was also held for the ADB Board of Directors.

In addition to discussions with the ADB President, Norkulov held meetings with ADB Vice President Yingming Yang, Executive Director Dongil Kim, and Managing Director Lia Guterish to discuss international cooperation and Uzbekistan’s participation in the bank’s activities.
