Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 31 May 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received a delegation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) headed by its Secretary-General Baghdad Amreev, who arrived in our country on a working visit.

At the meeting, the state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OTS were discussed.

The dynamic nature of the development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and the Organization in the economic, trade, transport, customs, tourism, law enforcement, cultural and humanitarian spheres was noted.

The schedule of upcoming events in our country, held jointly with the OTS, was reviewed, including the Youth Forum (on 3-4 June in Bukhara), the International Scientific Conference on the theme “The place of the Kokand Khanate in the formation of cultural heritage and the development of the statehood of the Turkic peoples” (on 8 – 11 June in Qoqand), meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture and the Turkic Agroforum (on 3-4 July in Tashkent).

A thorough exchange of views took place on the implementation of initiatives to further expand cooperation within the OTS, put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the summit of the Organization on 12 November 2021 in Istanbul.

Particular attention was paid to issues related to the preparation and holding of the First Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be held this year in Uzbekistan.

Certain issues of the regional and international agenda were also discussed at the talks.
