Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 1 September 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country Amira Fahmy.

The sides noted the dynamic development of Uzbek-Egyptian cooperation in all areas of mutual interest with satisfaction.

The readiness of the parties to take joint measures for the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level was emphasized.

The schedule of upcoming events was considered, in particular, the next meeting of the Uzbek-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the next round of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

An exchange of views took place on the prospects for intensifying economic diplomacy, including by encouraging direct contacts between business circles, organizing business forums, implementing investment projects in the fields of textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and other industries.

Particular attention was paid to the interaction of the parties within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The organizational aspects of the participation of the Egyptian delegation in the upcoming SCO Summit in Samarkand were discussed.
