Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Kasimkhodjaev was appointed Acting Director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Prior to his appointment, Ulugbek Kasimkhodjaev worked as an adviser to the Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on attracting investments and grants, rector of the Tashkent International University of Education, first deputy chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, and also held senior positions in various foreign companies.
The functions and tasks of the Agency include participation in the implementation of a unified state investment policy aimed at attracting foreign investment into the national economy, creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, taking into account the economic, social and environmental interests of the country, providing information and legal support to foreign investors implementing projects in Uzbekistan, as well as assistance in their interaction with ministries, departments and local authorities, establishing direct contacts with local entrepreneurs, monitoring and supporting ongoing investment projects with the participation of foreign capital, promoting the economic and investment potential of the country among foreign business circles, as well as informing them on favorable conditions created in the country, guarantees, benefits and preferences provided to foreign investors.
