ACL Group A: Kuruvchi Go Top, Sepahan Win

Jasar Hasanov and Timur Kapadze scored in the second half to give Mirdjalol Kasimov’s team a vital win.

2007 runners-up Sepahan picked up their first points of the campaign by defeating former group leaders Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia.

Seyed Mohammed Salehi and Hadi Aghili put the Iranians ahead while Talal Al Meshal grabbed a late consolation for the Saudi Arabians who won the competition in 2004 and 2005.
