Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- These days, a wide public response was caused by a message regarding an accident involving a 14-year-old girl hit by a freight train. The girl is currently in a deep coma of the fourth degree.

It is known that this incident occurred on the stretch between the railway stations "Tashkent-commodity" and "Khamza". Another accident happened just the day before. In the afternoon, on the stretch of the Yalangach and Salar stations, a girl who decided to commit suicide threw herself under a train. She is currently hospitalized. The investigating authorities are investigating the circumstances of each of the above cases.

At the stage of investigation, there is another incident, which also happened a few days ago and entailed certain consequences. On 8 February, in Yashnabad district of the capital, at one of the unregulated railway crossings, an accident occurred with the participation of a diesel locomotive and a Cobalt car. Nobody was hurt as a result of the collision. 

In view of the recurring occurrence of such cases, the involved structures, services and local officials regularly conduct extensive explanatory work with the population and vehicle owners on the safety of being near and on the railway. Plans of measures for preventive conversations, meetings, communication with the population living near the railway lines have been developed. Particular attention is paid to working with schoolchildren and adolescents.

The rules for being on the railway and the rules for crossing them are equal for all road users in places requiring special attention and utmost vigilance. In particular, there are specially designated and equipped places for pedestrians to cross the railroad, pedestrian bridges, and separate decks. Vehicle drivers are required to know the rules for crossing regulated and unregulated level crossings.
