About 51.7% of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover falls to Asia
The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that Europe and Asia accounted about 97.3% of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in the reporting period.
Share of these continents in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover decreased from 97.6% in the first quarter of 2011 to 97.2% in the same period of 2012.
The committee stated that share of Europe in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan decreased from 53.7% in January-March 2011 to 45.6% in the first three months of 2012. At the same time, the share of Asia rose from 43.9% to 51.7% in the reporting period.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, share of American continent rose from 2.3% to 2.5% in the reporting period. Share of Africa made up 0.3% (0.2% in 1Q 2011) and Australia and Oceania –0% (0%) in the first quarter of 2012.
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached US$5.907 billion in January-March 2012, of which US$3.133 billion fell to share of exports and US$2.774 billion to imports.
