Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 40 people were poisoned in Andijan region. This was reported by the press service of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the department, the Kurgantepe Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital received a patient with complaints of nausea, vomiting, headache and diarrhea. The patient underwent the necessary medical procedures.

When determining the causes of the disease, it was revealed that on 5 July 2022, the patient bought and consumed a non-burger in a restaurant owned by the FRESH FOOD 2020 family business.

On the same day, another 16 citizens applied to the district infectious diseases hospital with such complaints. All patients underwent gastric lavage and the necessary therapeutic measures. At present, the general condition of the patients is satisfactory. The patient was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis.

As of 23:00 on 6 July 2022, 37 patients applied to the hospital, 17 of them are under treatment, and the remaining 20 patients are under medical supervision.

In order to establish the factors that caused the disease, epidemiological studies are being carried out in the catering branch of the family business FRESH FOOD 2020. The activities of 3 branches of FRESH FOOD 2020 were also temporarily suspended. Samples of products were taken for laboratory research.
