About 40 people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yesterday, a gas cylinder exploded in Kukdala district of Kashkadarya, injuring almost 40 people.

The incident occurred at about 12:00 in Tukmor mahalla during a festive event. A 20-liter gas cylinder exploded while cooking fish on a gas stove.

According to the press secretary of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov, 37 people were injured as a result of the incident. They were taken to the hospital with various injuries. After examination, 13 people were released home.

Law enforcement agencies began an investigation under Part 2 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code (official negligence). The investigation is underway.
