About 200 graduates of medical universities to study at leading foreign universities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Presidential resolution “On additional measures to deepen reforms in the healthcare sector”, from the 2024/2025 academic year:

- Some 200 graduates of medical universities will study at leading foreign universities and centers on the basis of master’s and clinical residency programs;

- the creation of paid internships in multidisciplinary medical organizations will be ensured in order to develop the clinical skills required for a family doctor among graduate students of medical universities;

- international accreditation of educational programs of the Tashkent Medical Academy will be carried out;

- the knowledge of medical university students is assessed on the basis of a two-stage assessment system.

The following master’s specialties will be introduced and measures will be taken to train at least 150 specialists annually on the basis of state orders:

- “Organization and management of public health” (Public Health and Healthcare Management);

- “Public Health: Epidemiology and data science/data analytics”;

- “Public Health: Nutrition”;

- “Preventive Medicine”;

- “Physical Activity and Rehabilitation”.
