Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov met with Kyrgyz First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov at the Chechme-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint in Batken Oblast.
The parties discussed the conflict on the eve between the residents of the border villages of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The parties expressed regret over the incident on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the state border and called for a set of comprehensive joint measures to resolve the situation, prevent its escalation and relieve tension in the border areas.
The parties also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and other pressing issues.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct joint investigative measures and hold the perpetrators accountable.
