Abdulla Aripov approved as Prime Minister of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Abdulla Aripov was approved as the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan during joint session of both chambers of the parliament on 14 December 2016.

Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a joint session on 14 December. During the session, President-elect of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was sworn in as the President and he assumed the office.

During the session, issue of appointing of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan was also considered.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed a candidacy of Abdulla Aripov to the post of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan for consideration and approval.

Abdulla Aripov presented an action programme for short and long-term perspective.

MPs of Legislative Chamber and members of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved Abdulla Aripov to the post of Prime Minister.

On 12 December, UzLiDeP, which holds the most seats in the Legislative Chamber, adopted decision to propose Deputy Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to the post of Prime Minister for consideration of the President of Uzbekistan.

According to the Constitution of Uzbekistan, the candidacy of Prime Minister is proposed by political party, which holds the most seats at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
