Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the 17th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states (CFM) of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), held in the format of a videoconference on the topic "New safe and healthy tourism".
At the event, the report of the Secretary General of the Dialogue Pornchai Danvivatan was heard, the procedural norms of the DSA’s relations with other organizations and subjects of international relations were approved, and organizational issues were considered.
The heads of delegations discussed the current state and prospects for further development of cooperation in the field of tourism. In particular, the key aspects of the development of new approaches to ensuring the safety and health of foreign tourists in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the mechanisms of their practical implementation were discussed.
In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov emphasized the need to take decisive action and join efforts to move from responding to COVID-19 to actively preparing for the future recovery of the global economy, including stimulating the tourism industry.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan informed the meeting participants about the comprehensive measures being implemented in Uzbekistan to fully support the tourism industry and expressed confidence that foreign tourists who will arrive in the republic after the resumption of travel will see "tourism in a new way": safer, more colorful and more individual.
Special attention is paid to the issues of deepening regional integration in Asia. In this context, the importance of strengthening the interconnection between Central and South Asia was noted.
As a result of the event, the Ankara Declaration of the 17th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Dialogue on Cooperation in Asia was adopted.
