Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 February 2022, a regular ministerial meeting of the countries of Central Asia and the United States of America was held in the C5 + 1 format. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
During the event, which was held via videoconference, the heads of the foreign ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States discussed topical issues of interaction within the C5 + 1 framework and exchanged views on the regional agenda.
Proposals were considered to strengthen practical cooperation in the spheres of the economy, security, combating climate change, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.
In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov noted that there are opportunities to intensify cooperation along the C5 + 1 line through the implementation of programs to minimize the consequences of climate and environmental changes, ensure “green economic growth” in the region, coordinate efforts to combat the pandemic, building up mutual trade, investment and transport links.
