Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 August 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Terhi Hakala.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the political, trade, economic and investment spheres, in the field of education and scientific research.

The diplomats exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of upcoming bilateral and interregional events at various levels.

Special attention was paid to issues of regional and international security, taking into account the current situation in Afghanistan. Terhi Hakala expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for all possible assistance in the process of evacuation of citizens of the EU countries and persons involved from Afghanistan.
