Abdulaziz Kamilov receives new Ambassador of Greece
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 April 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece with the residence in Moscow (Russia) Andreas Friganas.

The ambassador of Greece presented his credentials to Abdulaziz Kamilov. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to Uzbekistan and wished successes on a high and responsible post.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on priority areas for further strengthening the Uzbek-Greek dialogue in various fields, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The sides underlined new positive trends in bilateral relations. In particular, over the past six months, two business forums have been held with the participation of representatives of business circles, a memorandum on cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of Uzbekistan and Athens has been signed. Mutually beneficial projects are being worked on, and contacts between higher educational institutions of the two countries have intensified.

As it was stressed, the numerous meetings of the delegation of leading Greek companies, which are currently in Uzbekistan, should facilitate search for new areas of cooperation.

The conversation confirmed mutual interest in resumption of regular inter-MFA political consultations, meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, which allow to identify and translate into practice the existing significant interaction potential.

The diplomats considered international and regional problems, issues of mutual support within the UN and other multilateral structures.
