Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with the US Deputy National Security Adviser
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in the United States of America with the delegation of Uzbekistan, met with the Deputy Adviser to the US President for National Security, Mira Ricardel, in Washington, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The meeting, which took place in White House, was also attended by the Senior Director for South and Central Asia Lisa Curtis.
The central topic of the conversation was the results of the Uzbek-American summit meeting in May this year, recorded in a joint statement by the heads of state of Uzbekistan-US: the beginning of a new era of strategic partnership.
As emphasized, this statement laid a solid foundation for further expansion of bilateral cooperation. Both countries attach great importance to the implementation of all agreements and treaties signed during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States.
In addition, the talks discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, certain international and regional problems, the possibilities for the transition to the peaceful channel of the situation in Afghanistan, as well as issues of cooperation in dealing with pressing challenges and threats.
The parties also exchanged views on other key areas of the Uzbek-American dialogue and the international agenda.
