Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 October 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with First Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America Wendy Sherman.

During the conversation, topical issues of the Uzbek-American agenda were discussed.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan gave detailed information on the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in all spheres of society.

The representative of the State Department noted that the American side supports the broad transformations envisaged in Uzbekistan.

An exchange of views took place on the situation in the region and the development of events in Afghanistan. The parties noted the need to facilitate the process of broad national reconciliation and the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, ensure the observance of fundamental human rights and freedoms in the country, and prevent a humanitarian crisis.

Particular attention is paid to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The schedule and organizational aspects of upcoming joint events, in particular the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue, were considered.

The negotiations were attended by the Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ruslan Davletov.
