Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov has met with the acting USAID Deputy Administrator, John Barsa, in the United States, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The parties welcomed the successful launch of new projects in Uzbekistan in education, healthcare, energy and legal proceedings.
The sides exchanged views on development of joint projects aimed at the economic development of Uzbekistan, strengthening the export potential of agricultural products, improving the management and efficient use of water resources, improving the situation in the Aral Sea region.
John Barsa noted the USAID’s commitment to further support the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.
The parties confirmed their interest in implementation of USAID regional projects within the framework of the C5+1 format, in particular those focused on active involvement of Afghanistan in the economic process in Central Asia.
Acting USAID Deputy Administrator expressed his readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future.
