Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held talks with President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.

Abdulaziz Kamilov arrived in Tehran to attend a meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.

“I hope that at the meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries neighboring with Afghanistan, it will be possible to reach a common vision for solving the problems of Afghanistan,” the head of Iran stressed.

Kamilov said: "Given that the superpowers have failed to do anything for Afghanistan, the meeting in Tehran is of great political importance."

At the meeting, the President of Iran characterized the relations between Iran and Uzbekistan as fraternal and developing. He stated that Iran does not see any restrictions in the development of relations with Uzbekistan in political, economic and cultural spheres.

Abdulaziz Kamilov, in turn, noted: “The two countries have great potential for the development of relations, and we are determined to use this potential. Uzbekistan strives for close cooperation with Iran in various regional and international areas. "
