Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 8 February 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council) Baghdad Amreev.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, during the event, the current state and prospects for the further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Turkic Council in areas of mutual interest were discussed.

It was noted that the entry of Uzbekistan into the Turkic Council was a historic event in strengthening the unity of the Turkic world and contributed to the disclosure of previously unused opportunities for mutually beneficial partnership.

The importance of implementing the initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the Summits of the Organization in 2019 and 2020, aimed at further developing multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Turkic Council, was separately emphasized.

An exchange of views took place on the schedule of upcoming meetings at the highest and high levels within the Organization, including regular meetings of ministers of tourism and ministers of youth and sports planned to be held in Uzbekistan, as well as the Forum of young entrepreneurs of Turkic-speaking states.

Other issues related to interaction between Uzbekistan and the Turkic Council were also discussed at the meeting.
