A unified electronic registry of chronic viral liver diseases to be developed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution "On improving measures to counter the spread of certain topical viral infections" was adopted.

In accordance with the resolution, from 1 July 2022, the annual number of screening examinations of the population of the republic for types of viral hepatitis "B" and "C" will be increased to 1 million, the number of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) examinations - up to 15 thousand, treatment of patients with viral hepatitis type "C" - up to 10.5 thousand people.

Starting from 1 September 2022, in relation to persons who have committed offenses under Article 190 of the Code of Administrative Liability, along with the definition of responsibility, a procedure for conducting screening examinations for hepatitis B and C types at their expense is being introduced.

According to the resolution, by 1 November 2022, a unified electronic registry of chronic viral liver diseases will be developed.

From 1 July 2022, the Research Institute of Virology and relevant institutions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Navoi, Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions will create a blood plasma bank of persons (donors) who have recovered from the Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever.

From 1 July 2022, employees of non-governmental medical organizations working with blood and its components will be vaccinated against hepatitis B infection.

Starting from 1 January 2024, the availability of vaccination of employees working with blood and its components against hepatitis B infection in non-state medical organizations, as well as the maintenance of the Register, are one of the requirements and conditions for licensing medical activities.

Since 1 July 2022, funds are allocated annually on a competitive basis to projects aimed at providing a scientific solution to the problems of widespread viral infections.

According to the resolution, in accordance with the epidemiological directive for 2022-2023, 119,016 employees of the public health system (of which 47,605 in 2022) must be vaccinated against hepatitis B infection.
