Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October 2021, a telephone conversation was held between the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

The parties focused on the issues of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the strengthening of Uzbek-Russian ties, which cover new areas of interaction.

The results of the Third Eurasian Women’s Forum held on 13-15 October in St. Petersburg and the results of the work of Russian senators as part of monitoring missions at the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, including in the group of international observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, were discussed.

Gratitude was expressed for the active participation of Russian observers as international observers in the Presidential elections in Uzbekistan.

The parties also highly appreciated the results of the Sixth Meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, held in Tashkent, during which issues of labor migration, education and deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed.

It was noted that a reliable and regular dialogue between the two countries plays an important role in the development of multifaceted cooperation.
