A system of online verification of drivers’ documents launched in test mode in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Starting from 19 May 2021, in the city of Tashkent, in a test mode, the practice of using a notarized power of attorney for the right to drive motor vehicles, information on passing a technical inspection, permission to install tinting on windows of passenger motor vehicles with the use of ID-card has been introduced. 

The Main Traffic Safety Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan noted: "This practice is being implemented in a test mode, and in case of failures and malfunctions in the system during the check, we ask the drivers to treat this situation with understanding and provide the inspector with the originals of the documents."

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 4 May 2021 “On measures to simplify the procedures for the provision of public services in the field of road safety” established that from 1 September 2021, the procedure for requiring drivers to have a notarized power of attorney for the right management of motor vehicles, information on the passage of technical inspection, permission to install tinting on the windows of passenger vehicles.

In order to the fulfillment of the above instructions, the Main Traffic Safety Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has improved the information system “e-Protokol”, which allows the employees of the road patrol service to read information from the “ID-card” chip using the service tablet, which will indicate information about the available a citizen of a vehicle, a notarized power of attorney for the right to drive a motor vehicle, information on the passage of a technical inspection, permission to install tinting on the windows of passenger vehicles.
