A single oncological complex to be created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to unite the oncology center and its branches in Tashkent and Tashkent region into a single complex.

The Ministry of Health notes that a single complex of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology is being built in Almazar district of the capital. The new complex will open in May 2023.

The new complex will include the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology, the Tashkent branch of the center and the Tashkent regional branch of the center.

Residents of Tashkent and Tashkent region, as well as other regions of Uzbekistan, can receive medical care.

The new eight-story building is designed for 650 inpatient beds and 100 daycare hospital beds. The polyclinic of the complex will be able to receive up to 500 visitors at the same time.

The Ministry of Health notes that 17 clinical departments will be created in the complex. In particular, a department of bone marrow transplantation will be opened.

About US$80 million will be directed to the technological equipment of the oncological complex. Part of the funds will be directed to the creation of 16 resuscitation and operating rooms. The intensive care unit will have functional beds with consoles equipped with heart monitors and ventilators.

The new complex will be a single methodological center. The Department of Nuclear Medicine will function in the complex. Also, 9 bunkers for radiation therapy will be created, which will ensure the continuity of treatment.

More than 100 specialists of the new complex will be trained in South Korea and Turkey.
