Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 September 2020, in the city of Almalyk, Tashkent region, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), together with partners, organized a seminar for women entrepreneurs on the topic "Women and the digital economy".
It was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, the National Association of Non-State Non-Profit Organizations, as well as 80 women entrepreneurs operating in the city of Almalyk and Pskent district.
During the event, held in the format of video conferencing, it was noted that due to the rapid development of digital technologies and the penetration of the Internet into all spheres of human activity, there have been radical changes in the labor market and in the field of business. In such conditions, for all members of society, the issue of finding their place in life, achieving financial independence and independence has become closely related to the development of new technologies.
At the same time, increasing the level of knowledge and information content of women has become an urgent task. This is also the goal of training events held by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the participation of experts for women entrepreneurs of the Tashkent region, dedicated to the development of electronic trading, improving the legislation of Uzbekistan and current areas of international regional cooperation in the field of ICT.
In the practical part of the seminar, the principles of operation of electronic trading mechanisms existing in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the possibilities of their use were discussed in detail.
Participants will be trained by leading experts on the topic for a month and will receive certificates at the end. All of them also had the opportunity to connect to a mobile application developed as part of the project for entrepreneurs. With this app, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to get answers to all their questions and connect with the partners they are looking for.
Participants who have submitted the best business plans within the framework of the project will be able to receive soft loans for their implementation.
