A round table takes place in Kiev with the participation of leading Ukrainian entrepreneurs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a round table with the participation of leading Ukrainian entrepreneurs, dedicated to the further development of Uzbek-Ukrainian relations in the trade and economic sphere, Dunyo news agency reported.

It should be noted that the Kiev CCI is the largest regional chamber of Ukraine, which includes hundreds of leading enterprises in the Ukrainian capital.

The parties met to establish active interaction between the Embassy and the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its members, as well as to determine the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The meeting, which began with a brief presentation of the capabilities of the two countries, turned into a constructive dialogue.

The President of the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mykola Zasulsky noted that cooperation with Uzbekistan began back in 2015, when the chamber organized a visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Uzbekistan. As a result, direct business contacts were established.

It was especially emphasized that the members of the chamber are pleased to observe the course successfully implemented in Uzbekistan to support entrepreneurship, the revival of small and medium-sized businesses in the country. In this regard, the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and Industry intends to intensify efforts to increase the interaction of the members of the chamber with the business community of Uzbekistan.

In turn, the Ukrainian representatives were familiarized with the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, the measures taken to liberalize the economy and the foreign exchange market, and create favorable conditions for foreign investors. The meeting participants also got acquainted with the priority areas of cooperation with Ukraine.

Representatives of Ukrainian business who spoke during the event highly appreciated the potential for building up cooperation with Uzbekistan. According to Anton Zubov, Marketing and Sales Director of the largest pharmaceutical company in Ukraine "Farmak", Uzbekistan, being the most dynamically developing country in the region, is an attractive investment direction. "The geographic location of the country, the presence of a well-developed infrastructure that guarantees quick access to the markets of neighboring countries, allowed the company to start implementing a project to build a pharmaceutical plant in Uzbekistan with an initial investment of US$10 million," he said.

In turn, the director of the investment company EasyGase Estate & Securities International Fund Dmitry Svistukhin, heads of the State Enterprise "State Research Institute of Building Structures" Gennady Farenyuk and PrJSC SI Capital Roman Sazonov expressed interest in deeply exploring the possibilities of establishing cooperation with Uzbek enterprises.

As a result of the round table, an agreement was reached on working out the issue of organizing a business mission of members of the Kiev CCI to Uzbekistan in the spring of 2021.
