A regular meeting of the National Council of Uzbekistan on Combating Corruption takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 November 2020, a regular meeting of the National Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Combating Corruption was held in the form of video conference.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Council Tanzila Narbaeva.

The event was attended by members of the Council, senators, representatives of state authorities and administration, research institutions.

During the meeting, the work done by the National Council and the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan was discussed, and priority tasks for the future were identified.

In addition, the meeting discussed the activities of the working groups on the preparation and implementation of the project "Sphere without corruption" in the health care system and public procurement. On this issue, information was heard from the responsible employees of the Agency, the ministries of health and finance.

During the event, the need to interact with the working groups at the maximum level and achieve the desired goal was noted, so that these areas were “exemplary areas”, and their experience was introduced into all other areas.

The meeting considered and approved the draft "Roadmap" to continue the implementation of international anti-corruption standards in the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, developed in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to improve the anti-corruption system in the Republic of Uzbekistan."

At the same time, a number of draft laws aimed at improving the legal framework for combating corruption were considered.

At the end of the meeting, organizational issues of holding the Anti-Corruption Week dedicated to 9 December, the International Day of Combating Corruption, were discussed.

An appropriate decision was made on the issues considered.
