Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 August, a presentation of a new edition of the explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language in 5 volumes, prepared by the State Scientific Publishing House Ozbekiston milliy ensiklopediyasi, was held at the South Korean University of Foreign Languages Hankuk, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the presentation, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea, it was noted that Uzbekistan pays great attention to increasing the role and authority of the Uzbek language as the state language, which is a symbol of national identity and independence. The Uzbek language personifies the centuries-old spiritual wealth of our people and is important for the modern political, socio-economic, spiritual, educational and cultural development of the country.

Professor of the Department of Central Asian Languages at Hankuk University Li Ji Eun expressed gratitude for the provided copies of the explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language and noted that this publication will be of great help for students in understanding the meanings of one of the richest languages in the world and will be actively used by the teaching staff in the development of new educational benefits.

“As relations between our countries expand, interest in the Uzbek language is growing among Korean youth. Currently, 20 students at our university are studying the Uzbek language. I believe that in the future they will contribute to the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between our peoples,” said Li Ji Eun.
