Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A government resolution “On measures for the phased introduction of product labeling by means of identification and further tracking” was adopted on 23 November 2019.

According to the Government resolution, starting from December 2019, a pilot project will be carried out for local manufacturers and importers to gradually introduce product labeling by means of identification and further tracking procedures.

The voluntary participation of entrepreneurs in the implementation of the pilot project does not exempt them from compulsory labeling with excise stamps and compliance with labeling procedures in the state language.

From December 2019, cigarettes and alcohol products will be included in the list of goods that will be labeled with identification means and further monitored.

Also, the Resolution approved the Temporary Regulation on the procedure for implementing the pilot project on labeling and tracing of cigarettes and the Temporary Regulation on the procedure for implementing the pilot project on labeling and tracing of cigarettes.
