Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis got acquainted with the work carried out in Navoi region to improve the living standards of the population, provide employment, reduce poverty, and solve the problems of entrepreneurs.
In the course of the study, a number of issues of concern to business entities were raised, which were identified during meetings with business entities of the region, including those who received the status of participants in the free economic zone "Navoi". In particular, some types of services provided by the Uzstandard agency create problems for entrepreneurs.
Based on the fact, at the next meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, held on 21 August 2020, the deputies considered the issue of sending a parliamentary request to the Director General of the Uzstandart agency, which was included in the agenda at the initiative of the Milliy Tiklanish DP faction.
It was noted that it takes business entities on average 10-15 days to obtain agency certificates for the release of imported goods into a free customs regime. When importing goods from the same supplier, the same goods must be re-certified. Also, certain difficulties for entrepreneurs are presented by the lack of sufficient laboratory equipment, special testing laboratories in the regions to study the compliance of imported goods, which are subject to mandatory certification in the agency's testing laboratories.
In this regard, a parliamentary inquiry will be sent to the general director of the Uzstandard agency "On the work carried out to organize special laboratories of the agency in the regions in order to further improve the system of customs inspection of imported products."
It includes a reduction in the terms for issuing certificates required by the Uzstandard agency for the release of imported goods into a free customs regime, the widespread use of advanced international testing methods, measures taken to simplify the retesting and certification of tourist goods, and it was also proposed to pay special attention to the adopted measures to expand the possibility of studying the compliance of imported goods subject to mandatory certification in testing laboratories of the Uzstandard agency.
