A Multi-Disciplinary Medical Center with Modern Capabilities Opens in Jizzakh
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the recently constructed multi-disciplinary medical center in Jizzakh Region, marking the first stage in the creation of a medical cluster in the area.
The new complex will allow residents to access a full range of medical services in one location, speeding up diagnostics, introducing high-tech treatment methods, and reducing bureaucratic procedures for patients.
The head of state was presented with the center’s capabilities and the conditions created for efficient work by doctors and quality patient care. The medical center is housed in a modern seven-story building and can accommodate up to 400 patients per day.
The inpatient facility features 344 beds, and over 100 billion soums have been invested in modern equipment, including MRI and MSCT machines, laboratory complexes, and advanced surgical devices.
The complex integrates a polyclinic, as well as departments for radiology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and urology, enabling faster diagnostics and treatment, smoother collaboration among doctors, and easier patient movement. The new capabilities are expected to significantly reduce queues for high-tech operations and decrease the need for residents to travel to national clinics or neighboring regions by 75–80%.
As part of the medical cluster, cooperation is planned with Kazan Federal University to enhance the skills of local specialists, introduce advanced diagnostic and treatment methods, and implement modern medical standards.
The President discussed with healthcare leaders and staff the need to move away from outdated approaches in managing medical clusters and multi-disciplinary clinics.
Special attention was given to the implementation of new operational mechanisms: the involvement of international experts and leading managers for each medical specialty, on-site training and professional development of staff, expansion of digitalization, and use of artificial intelligence. Jizzakh is intended to serve as a model for such a modern system.
The head of state emphasized that healthcare reforms should prioritize human interests and dignity. “People care less about buildings or facilities than about the quality of services, knowledge, professionalism, and integrity of the doctor. Patients come to a hospital primarily for attention, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment,” he said, stressing the importance of building a system where specialists work with dedication and high qualifications.
A meeting was also held with faculty and students of the Jizzakh branch of Kazan Federal University.
During the discussion, it was noted that practical training should be increased, and students should be regularly introduced to global medical achievements and best practices to ensure that specialist training meets modern healthcare standards.
