Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia, Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov signed a memorandum of cooperation with President of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Professor Tony Chan.

Within its framework, with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, joint scientific projects will be implemented in five priority areas - alternative energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, mathematics, robotics, totaling US$1 million with funding in equal shares.

Such cooperation will create the basis for bringing research in these areas to a new level, updating the material and technical base of scientific centers, and training young scientific personnel in priority areas.

In addition, ten young scientists and researchers from Uzbekistan will be sent to the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology for a six-month internship in the field of artificial intelligence.

As a result of studying the experience of Saudi Arabia in the field of artificial intelligence, young scientists will train a new generation of specialists.
