Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 2 November, a ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation between Uzsuvtaminot and Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services (ADSSC) of the United Arab Emirates took place in Tashkent.

The memorandum was signed by First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services, Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot Sahib Saifnazarov and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Ahmed Al-Shamsi.

In accordance with the memorandum, the implementation of the project “Improvement of the sewer system of the city of Tashkent” is envisaged, within the framework of which a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of over 1 million cubic meters per day will be built on the territory of the gathering of citizens of the Surum mahalla of Kuyichirchik district of Tashkent region.

This will make it possible to receive wastewater entering the sewage pumping station "KNS-3" to the sewage treatment facilities "Bektemir" and "Binokor" by gravity. As a result, a total saving of 55.4 kW of electricity per day will be achieved.

After the completion of the first stage of the project, over 400 thousand residents, as well as enterprises and organizations in Sergeli, Bektemir and Yangikhayot districts, will be covered by centralized sewerage services.

It is noteworthy that the implementation of this project will also lead to an improvement in the sanitary-epidemiological and environmental situation in these areas.

Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services was established in 2005 to collect and treat wastewater from all settlements in Abu Dhabi, as well as to safely dispose of solid and liquid household waste from households.

Abu Dhabi Holding Company (ADQ) is currently considered a subsidiary.

In 2010, ADSSC received international certificates "ISO 9001", "ISO 14001" and "OHSAS 18001".
