Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov and khokim of Almazar district of Tashkent city Azizkhon Umarkhonov signed a memorandum of cooperation to transform the Almazar district into an innovation zone.

The document reflects the directions of cooperation between the khokimiyat of Almazar district of Tashkent and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan on transformation into an innovation zone and the development of the Almazar region of Tashkent. Thus, in Almazar district, it is planned to introduce innovative products and services, including new devices, materials and technologies, create a base for joint research in areas of mutual interest, and improve the modern engineering and communication infrastructure of the region.

The parties undertake to establish mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as organize and develop scientific research within its framework. At the same time, the Ministry of Innovative Development will organize and conduct competitions for scientific and start-up projects, select winners, submit submitted projects to the competition committee and consider the issue of financing projects that have successfully passed financial and economic expertise.

The khokimiyat of Almazar district of Tashkent, in turn, will allocate funds to finance projects from the local government budget for the implementation and implementation of innovative projects in the district. It will also determine, in the prescribed manner, locations for the implementation of projects created as a result of scientific research.
