Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 15 October, with the assistance of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investment, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the Chinese company “Tashkent Zhuo Yuan Development” and the khokimiyat of the Syrdarya region, aimed at implementing a project for the production of high-quality float glass.

The production of float glass was first established in the world in the early 50s of the last century, and to this day is one of the most popular technologies for the production of flat glass, which is of high quality with large dimensions of the sheet.

At present, the glass industry in Uzbekistan is one of the most developing, and demand for products is developing rapidly. Manufactured glass products from key manufacturers of the industry, such as JSC “QUARZ”, JSC “Asl Oyna”, LLC “Karakalpak glassware” and JV LLC “Khorazm Shisha Yidishlari” and others, are supplied, as well as to the domestic market, and exported to neighboring countries like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan.

In Syrdarya region, there are the necessary reserves of quartz-containing raw materials to create high-tech production. In turn, the parties, when signing the Memorandum, expressed their intention to use the latest achievements of science and technology to automate and modernize all processes of storage and transportation within the framework of the planned project.

The total amount of investments from Chinese partners is indicated in the amount of more than 10 million dollars, in the form of cash or the necessary equipment and technology, inventory, as well as components for the full launch of the project.

After the development and approval of all the necessary documentation on the organization and creation of the project, the Khokimiyat of the Syrdarya region will provide all kinds of assistance in selecting a suitable site for the construction and establishment of production lines, facilitating customs and other procedures and creating new jobs for the local population and providing support for the implementation of a joint project for the production of high-quality float glass.
