Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November, a working group of the city khokimiyat met with the President of the Association of Developers of the Karaganda Region Tolegen Ashimov and entrepreneurs from Karaganda (Republic of Kazakhstan).
The meeting was attended by the first deputy head of the investment and foreign trade department Bakhtiyar Abidov, assistant to the khokim of Tashkent on the development of local industry Zafarhuzh Tursunov and a representative of the city branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Welcoming the guests, the representative of the khokimiyat noted the importance of a strategic and multifaceted partnership between the two countries. Kazakhstan occupies a leading position in the foreign trade operations of Uzbekistan, and trade, economic and investment cooperation is intensively developing and strengthening.
This year, active cooperation has been established between Tashkent and the regions of Kazakhstan, the trade turnover for 9 months of 2021 amounted to US$1.07 billion (including exports - US$241.5 million, imports - US$828.9 million). At the same time, Bakhtiyar Abidov focused on the underutilized potential for the implementation of joint projects in real estate, retail, financial services, tourism and other promising industries.
The presentation on the investment opportunities of the capital, shown to the guests, aroused a strong interest of the guests. Representatives of Karaganda construction companies asked questions about land prices, the availability of communications, the need for housing and sports complexes, legislation on equity participation and about the possibilities of entering the market with their projects.
In particular, the guests were interested in the possibilities of River Side Business City, Yunusobod Business City and the Sergeli Industrial Park industrial zone. Potential investors received comprehensive answers to their questions, clarifications on the benefits of participating in construction projects in Tashkent and assurances of legal and organizational support.
