Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 February, the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Erkin Yuldashev met with the Regional Representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for Central Asia Richard Komenda at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
During the meeting Richard Komenda was informed in detail about the large-scale reforms carried out in the country under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to ensure the protection of human rights.
In particular, it was noted that the head of the country, speaking at the main human rights platform in the world - at the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council, put forward current initiatives to further deepen reforms in the field of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Komenda stressed that the initiatives put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also identified important tasks facing the entire world community.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed priority areas for further cooperation. In particular, agreement was reached on interaction in the field of improving the professional training of prosecutors.
The meeting participants noted that the dialogue that took place will give a new impetus to the further development and strengthening of relations in the field of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
