Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 23 October, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodyk Safoev with the French deputy of the French National Assembly Carole Bureau-Bonnard.

During the meeting, the French deputy highly appreciated the preparations for the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan. It was noted about successive reforms to improve the national electoral legislation and the implemented international standards.

Inter-parliamentary cooperation plays an important role in enhancing friendly ties between our countries. In particular, today Uzbek-French cooperation has been established in the political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, scientific-technical and other spheres. It was noted that it had risen to a new level after the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in October 2018 to France.

The parties also noted that the intensity of bilateral economic relations is steadily increasing, which fully meets the interests of the two states.
