A meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 April 2025, the tenth joint meeting of the Uzbek-Russian and Russian-Uzbek Business Councils was held within the framework of the Fifth International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia."

The Uzbek-Russian Business Council was founded in 2005 on the basis of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Russia, with the aim of developing mutually beneficial partnerships between the business communities of the two countries, implementing joint investment projects, and addressing issues arising during cooperation.

The meeting was attended by D. Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, F. Degtyarev, Executive Director of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council, D. Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, E. Dybova, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, as well as leaders of sectoral associations and representatives of the business communities of both countries.

In their speeches, the delegation leaders emphasized the high level of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, the stable growth in the number of joint investment projects, and successful long-term trade relations. Russia remains one of Uzbekistan's key foreign economic partners. In 2024, the volume of mutual trade between the two countries exceeded $11.6 billion.

The meeting reviewed the results of the Council's work for the past year, discussed priority tasks for the future, the prospects for foreign trade, and areas of intersectoral cooperation between enterprises and organizations of both countries. Special attention was given to cooperation in the fields of e-commerce and information technology, as well as issues related to labor division and strengthening intersectoral cooperation. Participants noted that the implementation of IT technologies and digital integration contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment and trade systems in both countries.

The importance of interregional cooperation was also emphasized. It was pointed out that regional partnerships play a crucial role in providing timely support for business initiatives and the effective implementation of investment projects at the local level.

As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the "Partner Audit-Consulting Network RUKON" Association and the auditing company "Prima Audit."
