A meeting of the Senate Committee on Judicial-Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption was held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 16 November, a meeting of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on judicial and legal issues and combating corruption was held in the form of videoconference.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues that are planned to be considered at the ninth plenary session of the upper house of parliament.

At the meeting, which was attended by members of the Senate, senior officials of ministries and departments, experts and representatives of the media, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the further strengthening of guarantees of the rights and legitimate interests of owners ".

It was noted that the Law introduces amendments to the laws “On Denationalization and Privatization”, “On Local State Power”, “On Protection of Private Property and Guarantees of Owners’ Rights” and the Land Code.

In turn, according to the introduced norm, the withdrawal of a land plot or part of it for state and public needs is carried out with the consent of the land owner or in agreement with the land user and the tenant by the decision of the regional and Tashkent city Kengash of people’s deputies, respectively, or by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In addition, the decision of the khokims of the district, city, region or the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers stipulates that the right to own or use a land plot can be terminated only in four cases.

The application of this Law will strengthen the rights of owners, guarantee their protection from unjustified deprivation of property rights to their property.

The meeting also considered the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On establishing the Day of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan".

As noted, 14 branch trade unions of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan unite more than 32.5 thousand primary organizations. The number of members is 5.5 million people, of which 2.5 million are women and more than 2 million are young people under the age of 30.

These structures are granted additional rights under the Law on Trade Unions. Trade unions now have the right to take part in the formation of socio-economic programs, to submit their views on employment and labor protection to state bodies in the form of submission.

It is expected that the new Law will establish 11 November as the Day of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan. This will further strengthen the solidarity and cohesion of workers in a system that brings together millions of people.

The adoption of the Law will serve, first of all, to provide moral support to trade union organizations, to ensure their more effective work, to encourage selfless employees of the organization.
