Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 October 2020, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group was held to ensure the implementation of points 1 and 5 of the Roadmap to ensure the timely and comprehensive implementation of initiatives and statements of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

It was attended by members of the Working Group, senior officials of relevant ministries and departments, representatives of specialized structures of the UN Office in Uzbekistan, as well as media workers.

The meeting was chaired by Sodik Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, head of the Interdepartmental Working Group.

It was noted that all the initiatives and proposals outlined in the speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly have become another important historical step towards further improving the country’s image in the international arena and expanding multilateral cooperation. Not only the public of our country, but also international experts and observers recognized the importance of an analytical and constructive approach in the speech of the head of state to solving the most pressing issues at the regional and global levels and promoting specific solutions and proposals.

For the first time, the President made a speech from the high rostrum of the UN in his native Uzbek language, which further strengthened the sense of national pride of the Uzbek people.

In short, these initiatives are important, as they contribute to the consistent continuation of mutually beneficial and trusting relations within the UN and its specialized structures, raising them to a higher level of cooperation, as well as strengthening the position and improving the international image of Uzbekistan in the world.

In order to ensure the full, timely and high-quality implementation of all initiatives outlined in the President’s speech at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, special attention is focused on the approved "Roadmap" to ensure the timely and full implementation of the initiatives and statements of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

In addition, the draft work plan of the Interdepartmental Working Group was considered and after active discussion was approved.

Views and proposals were expressed on the development of draft codes and resolutions, as well as draft concepts that would reveal their content.

At the same time, they spoke about the assistance of the UN and its specialized structures in the implementation of the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly.

The need was noted for informing the public of widespread coverage in the media and social networks of the work carried out in this direction.

Important tasks have also been identified to be implemented in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 5 of the Roadmap.
