Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A meeting of the Council on Rail Transport of the Member States of the Commonwealth takes place in Minsk.

The meeting was attended by members of the organization - heads of railway administrations of Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, as well as associated members of the Council - heads of railway administrations Georgia, Latvia and Finland, the leaders of the railways of Lithuania, Estonia, Iran. It should be noted that for the first time the heads of the railways of Turkey and Mongolia took part in the meeting.

At the current meeting, the results of the operational work, freight and passenger transportation of the integrated railway network, the results of the development of a traffic schedule and a plan for the formation of trains in international traffic for 2019-2020, and a joint R&D plan were considered. A number of regulatory documents have been finalized and adopted.

 In addition, it was decided to assign the railway administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran the status of an associate member of the Council and its subsequent accession to the agreements, agreements and other mechanisms of joint work within the Council after all relevant obligations have been fulfilled.

Following the results, the heads of the railway administrations of the participating countries signed a protocol of the 71st meeting of the Council. The next meeting of the Council on Rail Transport of the CIS member states will be held in May 2020 in Dushanbe.
