Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- N.S., born in 1990, in 2020 contacted members of the international terrorist group Tavkhid va jihod katibasi, operating in Syria and Turkey, via the Internet, and under their influence went to Turkey. This was reported by the press service of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Tashkent.
Later, while trying to cross the Syrian border to join the militants, he was captured by Turkish border guards and returned to Uzbekistan.
But N.S. even after returning home, he continued his criminal activities, restored contact with the terrorists Tavkhid va jihod katibasi on the Internet, supported their ideas, and also engaged in propaganda of extremist ideology among his relatives and on social networks.
In connection with the above in relation to citizen N.S. a criminal case was initiated under Article 244-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the investigation, on the basis of the principles of humanity to N.S. the measure of restraint "Receipt" was applied.
However, N.S., and this time without drawing the right conclusions, was detained by law enforcement agencies while trying to secretly leave Uzbekistan in order to join the ranks of like-minded people in Syria.
Although N.S. was given several opportunities for correction, but he did not draw the right conclusions, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison by a court decision.
