A man was sentenced to administrative arrest for sexual harassment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A 33-year-old watermelon seller who sexually assaulted an unknown woman has been sentenced in Tashkent. 

The incident occurred on 25 June 2024 in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, when a man, while intoxicated, grabbed a woman by the lower waist and buttocks.

At the court hearing, he admitted his guilt and expressed regret for what happened. 

The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Sexual Harassment) and Part 1 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code (Failure to comply with the legal requirements of an internal affairs officer).

As a result, he was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest. He must also pay a fine of 3,655,000 soums.
