Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 28-year-old man was detained in an attempt to sell marijuana with an approximate weight of 750 grams during an operational event held by the officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of Pakhtach district of Samarkand Region, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.

On 22 January, law enforcement officers on the territory of the "Saray" makhalla of Pakhtachi district on a part of the M-37 highway running through the makhalla organized special event. Resident of Nurafshon mahalla was detained with 750 grams of marijuana.

According to the information received, it became known that the man cultivated marijuana on his own.

On this fact, the police opened a criminal case under part 5 of Article 273 (Illegal sale of narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances in large quantities) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
