A man was caught who promised to take the car out of the penalty area for US$1,600

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 October, a citizen applied to the Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Samarkand region. He explained that on October 16 at about 17:00, when he was driving his Nexia-3 car along Rudaki Street in the city of Samarkand, being intoxicated, traffic police officers stopped him and checked his condition using a breathalyzer, which showed the presence of alcohol. In this regard, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver, and the car was placed in a penalty parking lot. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of Samarkand region.

After, when the driver began to look for options to get his car out of the impound, a man named "B" offered him his help in solving this problem. During a conversation with him, he explained that he had acquaintances working in the traffic police department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Samarkand region, through whom he promised to resolve the issue in a positive way, without taking measures against the driver, namely, not bringing to court the documents collected according to the documents drawn up in relation to him administrative protocol, the issuance of a driver’s license and the withdrawal of the vehicle, for which he demanded money in the amount of US$1,600. In this regard, the author of the application asked to take legal measures against this citizen.

On the basis of a statement on 20 October, the law enforcement bodies carried out an operational event, during which citizen K.B. was detained while receiving US$1,600 from the author of the application.

On this fact, the Investigation Department under the Internal Affairs Directorate of Samarkand region is conducting a pre-investigation check.
