A man hacked into a Hamkorbank ATM in Urgench

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 34-year-old man accused of hacking a Hamkorbank ATM was detained in Urgench, Khorezm region, the press service of the National Guard of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

The incident occurred on Khanka Street at 03:38 on 12 April.

After receiving an alarm at the Security Department Monitoring Center, security officers arrived at the scene. They found a broken seal and an open ATM safe.

The attacker tried to escape, but was taken into custody near the scene of the incident and transferred to Internal Affairs Department No. 2 of Urgench, according to the National Guard.

The amount of stolen funds is not reported.
