A KIA driver hit a pedestrian in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A traffic accident occurred in Sergeli district of Tashkent at about 17:00 on 9 May. with a fatal outcome, the press service of the traffic police department of the capital’s police department reported.

The driver of a Kia hit 27-year-old D.K. on Kumarik Street. The pedestrian died from his injuries on the way to the hospital.

A video of the incident appeared on social networks. Video footage shows that the drivers of two cars were racing and one of them hit a man who was crossing the road.

A criminal case has been opened regarding this incident under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan - violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of a person. This violation is punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years with deprivation of certain rights.
