Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In September 2015, Uzbekistan, together with 192 countries of the world, joined the United Nations (UN) 2030 Global Agenda for Sustainable Development and committed itself to the implementation of national goals and objectives of sustainable development until 2030.

In 2019, Uzbekistan prepared the First Voluntary National Review, which was presented at the UN international forum.

As part of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 21, 2022 No. 83 “On additional measures to accelerate the implementation of the National Sustainable Development Goals and Tasks for the period up to 2030”, the Action Plan for the effective implementation of the National Sustainable Development Goals and Tasks for the period up to 2030 was approved. period in 2022-2026; approved the "Roadmap" for the preparation of the Second VNR.

The Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research (IPMI), according to the roadmap, has prepared a preliminary version of the Second Voluntary National Review for Uzbekistan.

This Second Voluntary National Review reveals the potential and opportunities of Uzbekistan (on further targeted financing of sustainable development goals, support and stimulation of the private sector and entrepreneurship, adaptation of national characteristics related to demographic development, strengthening the policy of supporting women and youth, gender equality). An important place in the review is occupied by the balance and interconnectedness of the main official document “Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026” with the goals and objectives of sustainable development.

The review reveals internal and external threats to the sustainable development of the country, the main achievements and progress in the implementation of individual national goals and objectives of sustainable development in recent years, the existing pros and cons, specific steps to achieve national goals and objectives of sustainable development in the near future.

This draft will be submitted for public discussion among representatives of civil society, the media, interested ministries and departments and international organizations.
